Previously, Washington Inside* mentioned that Heggseth halted this deployment plan during the movement of U.S. military forces to Poland. However, the situation has now reversed. On Thursday, Trump announced plans to dispatch an additional 5,000 U.S. troops to Poland, citing the election of nationalist Kacper Nawrocki as President of Poland. Yet, Nawrocki was actually elected president nearly a year ago. The previous U.S. announcement suspending the deployment of a brigade combat team to Poland caught Nawrocki off guard.
