Foreign media: China plans to invest $350 million in agricultural development in Angola, aiming to reduce reliance on U.S. agricultural products and enhance food security.
Among them, China Power Construction Group will invest more than $100 million, obtaining a 25-year tax-free concession for 30,000 hectares of land to build large-scale grain bases in six provinces in eastern Angola. It is expected that 60% of the output will be directly transported to China, and it is planned to establish seed research and testing centers.
China Minsheng Investment Corporation has pledged to invest $250 million over the next five years to develop 100,000 hectares of soybean and corn planting. It has already started clearing land in two provinces in northern Angola and plans to expand to 10,000 to 20,000 hectares next year, with a goal of producing 8 tons of corn and 5 tons of soybeans per hectare respectively.
