Media: Kyiv Mayor Again Urges Citizens to Leave the City Due to Energy Crisis

Sputnik, Moscow, January 17 - According to a report by Reuters citing an interview with Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the mayor again urged citizens to leave the city as much as possible due to the current severe energy crisis.

On January 9, the Kyiv mayor had already urged residents to go outside the city, against the backdrop of insufficient local power supply and heating, using alternative power and heat sources.

The agency wrote, "Klitschko once again called on Kyiv residents to leave the city if possible to ease the burden on the infrastructure."

On January 13, according to media "Strana", due to emergency and scheduled power outages, several towns in Kyiv and Kyiv region were almost completely in darkness. Previously, "Insider" reported that due to long-term problems with energy infrastructure, the Ukrainian parliament experienced a power outage for the second time this year.
