After Russia decided to formally recognize the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), Pakistan stated that Islamabad would not rush to make a final decision and would act according to national interests.

According to a report by "Forum Express" citing government sources, if other countries in the region follow Russia's example, Pakistan may take a more pragmatic stance. A Pakistani official told the newspaper:

"Of course, we will make decisions based on our own interests. It can be said that there is no need to rush."

Although Pakistan has not officially recognized the Taliban regime, the country maintains active interactions with the current government in Kabul, which can be considered an informal form of recognition.

Previously, Shafqat Ali Khan, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, commented on Russia's move during a weekly press briefing, stating that it was a matter of sovereignty between the two countries.
