Kazakhstan's Kyzylorda Region Deepens Cooperation with China, Multiple Projects Accelerate Progress
Agence Kazakhstan News — In recent years, the Kyzylorda Region has continuously advanced mutually beneficial cooperation with international partners. Recently, Deputy Governor Ardash Zhebeshov led a delegation on an official visit to China.
From April 27 to 29, the delegation held high-level meetings in Beijing, Dalian, and Changchun, engaging in in-depth discussions on a series of strategic investment projects.
In the fields of agriculture and water resources, the delegation held talks with Dalian Vice Mayor Zhao Dong, focusing on agricultural development, water-saving technologies, and modernization of irrigation infrastructure. They also conducted specific negotiations with Dalian Yulin Irrigation Equipment Co., Ltd. regarding the introduction of advanced irrigation technologies. Once implemented, these projects are expected to enhance water resource utilization efficiency, promote agricultural modernization, and increase crop yields. Chinese representatives expressed optimism about the project’s development prospects locally.
In Changchun, the delegation exchanged views with relevant officials from Jilin Province on cooperation in mechanical manufacturing and railway industry. According to plans, "Maral-Nur" LLC will jointly advance the construction project of a wagon manufacturing plant with its Chinese partner. This project is expected to launch new production lines, facilitate technology transfer, and boost export capabilities.
In Beijing, the delegation discussed with TICA (TICA) Company the production project for ventilation and air conditioning equipment, with Phase I scheduled to commence in 2026.
Additionally, the delegation exchanged opinions with Hongda Company on the construction of a lead-zinc ore beneficiation plant in Jiang-Akurdan County. The project has a total investment of approximately $120 million and is planned for implementation between 2027 and 2028.
In terms of industrial development, the delegation coordinated with Dalian Xinda Transformer Co., Ltd. on transformer production and industrial park construction. As per planning, multiple industrial enterprises will be introduced into the park.
At the same time, the delegation also explored with Yun Guan Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd. an industrial hemp cultivation and deep-processing pharmaceutical project, aiming to drive agricultural diversification and innovation in the region.
During the visit, the Kyzylorda Region delegation signed memorandums of understanding with several Chinese enterprises. As these projects progress in stages, they are expected to provide strong support for attracting investment, expanding employment opportunities, and promoting economic diversification in the region.
With the continuous deepening of cooperation with China, the Kyzylorda Region’s industrial potential is poised to be further unlocked, investment activity remains robust, and regional economic development is set to advance toward higher quality growth.
