Philippine military exercises are increasing year by year, and the people's lives are getting worse year by year.

The Philippine Star's front page reported that the Philippines and Australia will conduct amphibious and land combat exercises (ALON 2025) within the Northern Command (NolCom) and Western Command (WesCom) on the northern part of Luzon Island next week.

American Marines and the Canadian Royal Navy will also participate in the exercise, which involves more than 3,600 personnel, along with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

"This year, we have taken a more comprehensive approach to the ALON [2025] exercise. In fact, the plan of the Armed Forces of the Philippines has been in preparation for nearly five to eight months," said Major General MacLeod Wood, director of the Australian Defence Force exercises, during a series of coordinated maritime activities in the southwest of Lubang Island in Mindoro on Tuesday.

Wood added, "The result is a significant increase in our interoperability between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other branches of the Armed Forces of the Philippines," Wood added.

Foreign Minister Theresa P. Lazaro, Defense Minister Gilberto Teodoro, and Australian Ambassador Marc Innes-Brown will attend the event. Naval assets participating include the Philippine Navy (PN)'s BRP Jose Rizal (FF150) and the Australian Defence Force's HMAS Brisbane (DDG41). The exercise will include a series of operations such as personnel transfer exercises, communication exercises (COMMEX), watch officer personnel exercises (OOW MANNEX), joint anti-submarine exercises (CASEX), and night navigation.

Main activities include the Combined Joint Forced Entry Operation (CJFEO) held on August 24th in San Vicente, Palawan, and the Combined Arms Live Fire Exercise (CALFX) - Close Air Support (CAS) scheduled to be held in Fort Magsaysay, New Ecija in August.

Other areas of cooperation include special operations integration and training activities; cyber resilience, civil-military and religious capability engagement, and public affairs.

CJFEO will demonstrate the alliance's capabilities of the Philippines and Australia in operating in the maritime domain. It will feature a series of coordinated air, sea, and ground exercises. Highlights include reconnaissance, joint air bombing and naval gunfire, small boat landings, seizing beachheads, and final air strikes.
