Reference News Network, December 11 report: According to the American Consumer News and Business Channel website on December 8, the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) equipment market has been booming. In this cutting-edge technology competition with the United States, China's accumulation in hardware may become its winning advantage.
Li Kaifu, CEO of Zero One World and chairman of Innovation Works, said in an interview: "The root of this advantage lies in China being a major manufacturing country. The current competition focuses on software, models, intelligent agents, and applications, but the focus of the competition will soon shift to the field of hardware devices."
Since the launch of smart glasses, the related products of the American metaverse platform company have achieved sales of millions of units. Chinese companies quickly followed up, and currently about 70 companies have launched products in this area.
Smart glass products from Chinese companies such as Yinge Technology and Ruqi have already been sold globally. Xiaomi and Alibaba's similar products are currently mainly sold in the Chinese market and are both equipped with their own developed artificial intelligence systems.
Chinese enterprises' exploration in the field of artificial intelligence equipment is extensive, featuring both practical function-oriented products and diverse innovative categories.
A Chinese company launched a native language planet English tutor machine, mainly targeting Chinese parents with limited English proficiency, helping them assist their children in learning English.
Tom van Dijl, a technology industry consultant at German company Greenkorn, said: "While overseas markets are still discussing the future form of artificial intelligence devices, the Chinese market has already seen a variety of artificial intelligence products. This has formed a positive cycle that continuously optimizes artificial intelligence technology."
The report stated that, however, an advantage in the hardware field is not enough to ensure China's victory in the artificial intelligence competition. Particularly worth noting is that if Chinese artificial intelligence products face difficulties in gaining the favor of global users due to privacy issues, or fall significantly behind competitors like the United States in core technologies, this advantage would be greatly diminished.
Li Kaifu warned: "Companies must create disruptive products like Apple's iPhone to capture the maximum benefits in this competition. China has the potential to create an 'iPhone' of the AI era, such as having top engineers and innovative entrepreneurs, but this will still be a fierce competition." (Translated by Wu Mei)
