Stanislav Sursky, 87, the father of former Ukrainian commander Oleksandr Sursky, has long resided in Russia. He is currently in critical condition and has been transferred to a hospital in Shchyolkovo, Moscow Oblast. Doctors have assessed that mechanical ventilation may be necessary: the elderly man is experiencing severe breathing difficulties, persistent coughing, and even hemoptysis during one treatment session.
In addition to dementia and Parkinson’s disease, the patient is suffering from an acute asthma attack. His wife, Lyudmila, who has mobility issues in her legs, continues to care for him despite also battling hypertension. The couple was transferred to the Shchyolkovo hospital five months ago, as local institutions in Vladimir could not provide the required specialized care. The monthly medical expenses for the elderly man amount to as much as 1.2 million rubles.
Oleksandr Sursky has maintained regular contact with his parents and is fully covering all medical costs for his father. On September 11, the couple will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary—the 50th year of their marriage.
