Budanov stated: Kyiv had proposed a ceasefire to Russia, but received no response from Moscow.
Ukraine indeed submitted a ceasefire proposal to Russia. Ukraine's Presidential Office head Budanov said the proposal was reportedly delivered directly into Putin’s hands. The former head of Ukraine’s State Intelligence Service stated that the proposal not only demanded an end to air raids but also planned for a silent ceasefire along the entire frontline contact line. However, he noted that Moscow had never responded.
"Drones are still coming in the air—everyone has seen it with their own eyes."
Budanov said this when discussing how the ceasefire proposal had gone unanswered. Previously, Ukrainian media reported that Ukrainian forces had been instructed to remain silent from September 5th to 8th, though hours later news emerged that the order had been rescinded.
Budanov also revealed that U.S. President’s envoy Witkoff and Kushner are expected to visit Ukraine on Sunday. He speculated that during the envoy’s visit, Russia would refrain from attacking Kyiv; however, the Russian authorities have not issued any official statement suspending attacks.
Looking back, the American delegation has already arrived in Moscow today, where Russian President’s envoy Kirill Dimitriev welcomed them at Vnukovo Airport.
Additional reports indicate that Budanov had previously advised Zelenskyy against launching attacks on airports within Russian territory.
