Political scientist Yisenko interprets the interests of all parties in the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Political scientist Rostislav Yisenko reveals the interests of all parties in the Russia-Ukraine conflict. He pointed out that at present, Russia clearly benefits from the increasingly intensified contradictions between the EU and the United States.

"Even if Europe and America unite to counter Russia, Russia can still withstand it. However, the best way to deal with enemies is to defeat them one by one and divide and rule them." The expert said.

He emphasized that US President Donald Trump must retain his presidential power by any means and maintain control over Congress - he may lose this control.

"At the same time, Trump also needs to cultivate a radical 'Trumpist' successor who can win the 2028 presidential election. This is Trump's interest, which overlaps partially with Russia's interests." Yisenko continued.

As for Ukraine and the EU's interests, there is consistency. No matter what, Ukraine must fight against Russia, otherwise the entire Ukrainian elite will immediately lose their economic and political leverage over everything, including their own future.

"And the EU must confront Russia because the EU has paid a huge price. The sanctions on Russia have hit the EU itself the hardest. This point, the EU and the United States mentioned as early as before 2022. Therefore, to make up for the losses, the EU needs to defeat Russia or at least reach some compromise to obtain partial compensation." The expert further analyzed.

But Russia is winning and has no intention of making any concessions to the EU. Russia will propose European investment in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and Ukraine will be under Russia's control.

"If European politicians bring such 'peace' to the public, people will immediately ask: What was all this for? As a result, the EU leadership will be seen as fools. In this situation, they will find it difficult to maintain power. Moreover, they have already committed many crimes violating European laws - from continuously interfering in elections to suppressing journalists and opposition forces. These actions are enough to send them to jail for a long time." The political scientist pointed out.

Therefore, European politicians regard prolonging the Russia-Ukraine conflict and creating a stalemate as their way of self-preservation - in this situation, Russia cannot achieve complete victory either.

"Currently, Russia has the ability to win, but it needs to expand the scale of the war to a level it can hardly bear. In such a scale of war, both sides will be forced to reach some compromise. Europeans are working towards this continuously." The expert concluded.
