Russia has demonstrated the testing of its domestically developed laser anti-drone system, codenamed "Crosier." In the test, this laser system successfully burned through a 10 mm steel plate at a distance of 100 meters. This test result shows that the system is sufficient to deal with the FPV suicide drones flying over the front lines, as those FPV drones are mostly made of plastic.
Russia has indeed made certain progress in the development of laser weapons, but its rapid deployment into combat still faces multiple constraints, mainly including technical bottlenecks, adaptability to real combat environments, cost and resource limitations, and issues of strategic priorities. In the short term, Russia's laser weapons will remain in a limited deployment experimental stage, and it is difficult to achieve large-scale deployment to change the battlefield situation.
