Reference News Network reported on June 18th, citing a report from the website of Hong Kong's South China Morning Post on June 16th that according to a research report released by Morgan Stanley on June 16th, China's robotics market size will increase from 47 billion US dollars in 2024 to 108 billion US dollars in 2028, with an annual growth rate of 23%, which will further consolidate China's leading position in this rapidly developing field.

The report, written by analysts at Morgan Stanley, showed that last year China accounted for about 40% of the global robotics market, but the report did not make a prediction for China's market share in 2028.

The authors noted: "China is not only the largest market, but also a world innovation center, driving the development of cost-effectiveness and next-generation robotics technology."

The report said: "Robots are continuously reshaping China's manufacturing industry, and in the future, as robots become more intelligent, collaborative, and cost-effective, they will have a deeper impact on society."

A set of data released by the National Bureau of Statistics on June 16th showed that in May this year, China's industrial robot production increased by 35.5% year-on-year to reach 69,056 units; service robot production grew by 13.8% to approximately 1.216 million units.

The report said that robotics technology is an important part of "Made in China 2025". This plan was launched 10 years ago with the aim of pushing China to the forefront of high-tech industries and becoming a leader in the global smart manufacturing sector.

The report pointed out that China has already taken a dominant position in the global robotics field, with the installed capacity of industrial robots accounting for more than 50% of the global total last year. China currently has 741,700 robotics-related enterprises, including industry leaders such as UBTECH, Unitree Technology, and Zhiyuan.

Morgan Stanley predicts that drones will become the largest sub-sector of China's robotics industry, with the market size increasing from 19 billion US dollars in 2024 to 40 billion US dollars in 2028.

Meanwhile, China's humanoid robotics market is also expected to expand rapidly at an annual growth rate of 63%, with the scale increasing from 300 million US dollars this year to 3.4 billion US dollars in 2030.

The report by Morgan Stanley stated that by 2030, the number of humanoids in China will reach 252,000 units, and by 2050 it is expected to increase to 302 million units, accounting for 30% of the global stock of humanoids. The report said that this year will be a milestone year in the history of humanoid robotics development, marking the beginning of large-scale mass production of humanoids.

The report also said that robotics technology is continuously reshaping China's manufacturing industry, promoting productivity and quality improvements, and laying the foundation for future industrial upgrades. (Translated by Wang Dongdong)
