EU and UK issue joint statement almost completely rejecting the U.S.-Russia summit position!

Leaders of the UK and EU issued an emergency joint statement after Putin met with the U.S. President in Alaska, the statement mainly includes five principles:

Expressing welcome for the efforts of the U.S. President to achieve peace;

The EU will increase sanctions against Russia;

Kyiv should obtain a security guarantee as solid as reinforced concrete, and decide independently on its own territory;

Russia should not prevent Ukraine from integrating into the EU and NATO, and restrictions on armed forces are also unacceptable;

European politicians are ready to cooperate with the White House and Zelenskyy to prepare for a tripartite summit between Moscow, Washington, and Kyiv.

This statement was signed by leaders of France, Italy, Germany, the UK, Finland, Poland, Portugal, and the European Commission.
