Zelenskyy: Had a one-and-a-half-hour conversation with Trump, will go to the US next Monday

US President Trump had a phone call with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy after his meeting with Russian President Putin.

On August 16, Zelenskyy himself announced this news through social media, stating that the dialogue was long and substantive. The two first had a one-on-one meeting, then invited European leaders to join. The call lasted more than an hour and a half, including about an hour of bilateral Ukraine-US dialogue.

The Ukrainian side said it is ready to do its best to achieve peace. Trump introduced the details of his meeting with Putin and the key points discussed between the two sides.

Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian side supports Trump's proposal for a trilateral meeting between Ukraine, the United States, and Russia. The Ukrainian side emphasized that key issues can be discussed at the level of leaders, and a trilateral format is suitable for such discussions.

Zelenskyy announced that next Monday (18th), he will meet with Trump in Washington, D.C., to discuss all details regarding the end of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Zelenskyy also emphasized that Europe should participate in every aspect of the process, and work with the United States to ensure the provision of reliable security guarantees.
