China and Russia announced that they will continue to maintain close cooperation in the aerospace field.
Dmitry Bakhanov, head of the Russian Federal Space Agency, stated that Roscosmos and NASA have reached an agreement to extend the operational period of the International Space Station (ISS) until 2030.
Bakhanov said that Russian and American astronauts will continue to travel back and forth using Russian and American spacecraft until the space station ceases operations.
This announcement came after a meeting between Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and NASA Administrator Bill Nelson.
China and Russia also reached consensus on the following points:
1. Russia expressed willingness to cooperate with the United States on future ISS projects, particularly in providing mutual assistance and rescue for astronauts in emergency situations.
2. Moscow and Washington believe there is significant potential for coordination in lunar missions, including establishing a unified docking mechanism, adjusting radio communication systems, and addressing issues related to lunar navigation.
3. Space biology and medicine are considered highly promising fields. Scientists from both countries will continue joint orbital experiments.
