Reuters reported that an Israeli military official said on June 19 that the earlier statement by the Israeli military spokesman claiming that Israel had attacked Iran's Bushehr nuclear facility was incorrect.
The official only confirmed that Israel had struck Iran's Natanz, Isfahan, and Arak nuclear facilities.
When further questioned about the Bushehr nuclear facility, the official said he could neither confirm nor deny whether Israel had launched an attack on that location. Iran has a nuclear reactor there.
Reuters reported that if the Bushehr nuclear facility were attacked, it would signify a major escalation. The facility is near Iran's Arab neighbors, and some staff members are from Russia.

According to a report by the Russian satellite news agency on June 19, Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian president, stated at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum that Israel had promised Russia that Russian experts in Iran's Bushehr would not be threatened with attacks.
Peskov said, "We maintain a partnership with Iran and a very equal and trustworthy relationship with Israel. Just yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin mentioned that we have reached a consensus with Israel, namely, that Russian experts working in Bushehr will not be threatened or attacked."
