Honda announces exit from South Korea automotive market
On April 23, 2026, Honda (Korea), the sales subsidiary of Honda in South Korea, announced it will cease automotive sales operations in South Korea by the end of 2026. This decision stems from evolving global and local market conditions, aiming to concentrate resources for enhanced long-term competitiveness after thorough evaluation.
Honda (Korea) was established in October 2001 under the name Honda Motorcycle (Korea). It began selling motorcycles in May 2002 and started automobile sales in May 2004.
Currently, the company primarily sells two four-wheel vehicles: the Accord and the CR-V.
After the cessation of automotive sales at the end of 2026, Honda’s customers will continue to receive after-sales services such as vehicle maintenance, servicing, spare parts supply, and warranty support.
Honda (Korea) will continue to focus on its motorcycle business. Key motorcycle models currently sold include the PCX125, Super Cub, Forza 350, ADV350, Forza 750, and CBR600RR.
