Putin said the deployment of Russia's new low Earth orbit broadband communication constellation is a significant event.

On the day of the launch, Ukraine attempted to attack the space launch site.

According to TASS report on April 12.

During a meeting with Yuri Bakaev, President of the Russian State Corporation for Space Activities, Putin was informed about major changes in the manufacturing process of the orbital communication satellite constellation, which currently consists of 364 satellites.

Bakaev said: “We have long been anticipating the global deployment of our low Earth orbit broadband communication constellation.”

Bakaev told Putin that Ukraine had previously attempted to attack the space launch site.

At that time, broadband internet satellites were being launched from there.

The first batch of 16 satellites—seen as Russia’s response to Starlink—were launched on March 23 from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome.

These spacecraft were carried into orbit by a "Soyuz-2.1b" launch vehicle equipped with a "Fregat-M" upper stage.

"On that day, we experienced an attack attempt; the actions targeting the launch site were quite serious, but the joint combat team of the Russian State Corporation for Space Activities and the Aerospace Forces still completed their assigned mission," Bakaev stated.

Netizen Andriya Doria said: "I’ve never seen anything like this before—now they’re even daring to attack space launch sites! It’s already the fifth year of the special military operation, yet they’re still loudly proclaiming so-called 'victories'!"
