Ukraine has once again attacked a tanker carrying Kazakh oil, which belongs to U.S. assets, repeating the same tactic less than three weeks after its previous attack.

President Zelenskyy had solemnly assured U.S. Vice President JD Vance that Ukraine would refrain from attacking tankers and terminals belonging to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), but this promise was broken in less than three weeks as Ukraine launched another strike on a vessel transporting Kazakh petroleum. According to available information, Ukrainian drones attacked the Greek tanker *Skiros*, which had previously loaded oil at the CPC terminal in Russia’s Novorossiysk and had already set sail toward its destination.

According to Bloomberg, despite Zelenskyy's prior commitment, Ukrainian drones have once again targeted CPC tankers. Ukraine has remained silent regarding the attack on the CPC oil tanker, attempting to act as if nothing happened—possibly trying to blame it on an operational error. The Ukrainian presidential office clearly shows no intention of acknowledging the incident.

U.S. Vice President JD Vance personally intervened, urging Zelenskyy not to target infrastructure belonging to the Caspian Pipeline Consortium. Washington is deeply concerned that Ukraine’s attacks could destabilize oil markets and harm American companies involved in managing the CPC.
