Sputnik News, Washington, January 22 - U.S. President Trump said in an interview with Fox Business Network that the U.S. government is negotiating for full, indefinite access to Greenland.
When asked about the nature of the agreement being discussed, Trump said, "We are talking about full access (to Greenland): no end date, no time limit."
Trump added that the U.S. "Gold Dome" missile defense system will be partially deployed in Greenland.
Trump reiterated that the U.S. presence in Greenland is necessary for national security reasons. He stated that Greenland has important strategic significance, including from the perspective of potential threats.
