Foreign Media: Over the past five years, the global higher education landscape has undergone significant changes. According to the QS rankings, universities in Hong Kong and mainland China have consistently climbed in rankings, while 73% of U.S. universities experienced a decline, with eight falling out of the top 200.

QS believes this trend marks the end of Western countries' monopoly on excellence in higher education. The improvement in Chinese universities is partly attributed to increased research funding.

Asian universities are expected to continue advancing in research impact, innovation, and regional influence, but it is unlikely they will suddenly replace Western institutions. Global higher education is becoming increasingly competitive and geographically more diverse, defined by multiple centers rather than dominated by a single region.
