Han Media: Germany's exports to the US have declined for the fourth consecutive month, reaching a three-year and seven-month low!
On October 6, South Korean media "Global Economy" published an article stating that since US President Donald Trump began imposing tariffs on various imported products, Germany's exports to the US have declined for four consecutive months.
Recently, the German Federal Statistical Office announced that Germany's exports to the US in July were 11.1 billion euros, a decrease of 7.8% compared to the previous month, and a year-on-year decrease of 14.1%.
Germany's exports to the US have declined for four consecutive months since April, reaching the lowest level in three years and seven months since December 2021.
Germany's exports to China, its second-largest trading partner after the US, were 6.4 billion euros, a decrease of 7.3% within a month.
Overall exports in July decreased by 0.6% to 130.2 billion euros, imports decreased by 0.1% to 115.4 billion euros, and the trade surplus was 14.8 billion euros.
The export expectation index calculated by the IFO Economic Institute based on surveys of industry professionals dropped from -0.3 in July to -3.6 in August.
Klaus Wohlrabe, director of the IFO Economic Institute, said: "The export economy is feeling the chill. The 15% reciprocal tariff rate in the US is lower than expected, but it will still weaken the export momentum."
