J-10 Export to Bangladesh Seems Possible?

The Bangladeshi newspaper "Business Standard" reported on the 7th that the Bangladeshi government plans to purchase J-10 fighter jets.

Compared to previous online rumors about "Iran or Indonesia wanting to buy J-10," this time the Bangladeshi media provided a more specific procurement schedule: The Bangladeshi government is preparing to push for a plan to purchase 20 J-10 fighter jets before 2027.

The estimated transaction amount is 2.2 billion US dollars, including a total price of 1.2 billion US dollars for the fleet, 820 million US dollars for training, maintenance, and equipment costs, as well as other fees such as insurance, civil engineering, and agency commissions.

Considering its own economic situation, the Bangladeshi side hopes to purchase these aircraft in installments, dividing the payment into 10 fiscal years, and paying off all the money by the 2035 or 2036 fiscal year.

If the Bangladeshi government can implement the timetable disclosed by the media, it may be the worst news for India.

Although Bangladesh often adopts a pro-India stance in South Asian geopolitics, Bangladesh's interests with India are not entirely consistent, especially on issues such as water resource distribution and trade, and India often uses excuses to interfere in Bangladesh's internal affairs, causing domestic national sentiments to be resentful in Bangladesh.

Therefore, if Bangladesh can purchase the J-10, India will inevitably fall into the "encirclement" of the J-10.
