Sputnik News, Moscow, March 25 — Russian President's Press Secretary Peskov stated that the decision by Russia and Vietnam to build a nuclear power plant in Vietnam represents a breakthrough.
On March 23, the two sides signed an intergovernmental cooperation agreement on building a nuclear power plant in Vietnam during a ceremony held in Moscow. The signing was attended by Russian Prime Minister Mishustin, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation Likhachev, and Director of the Vietnamese Government Office Tran Van Son.
Peskov told reporters: "Building a nuclear power plant in Vietnam is a highly productive, multi-sector, multi-level cooperation, and a groundbreaking decision."
Peskov also noted that Russian President Putin will meet with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the Kremlin on March 25.
