The Philippine Star's front page reported that photos showed Philippine tennis "prodigy" Alexandra Eala creating a piece of tennis history with a stunning late comeback at the US Open on Sunday, becoming the first Filipino player to defeat 14th seed Clara Tauson from Denmark in a Grand Slam singles match in the first round.

The 20-year-old player from Quezon City came back from 5-1 down in the final set to win 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (13/11) in a heart-stopping victory.

"I'm very thrilled with what I was able to do today, especially coming back in the third set," Eala said. "This is a very special win for me."
