China – As the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Nanning is rising as a vibrant development hub in southern China and an important gateway for cooperation with ASEAN. In recent years, driven by high-value-added services and advanced industries, Nanning has achieved stable economic growth and modernization.

Nanning is actively fostering innovation and has established the China-ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Innovation Cooperation Center. This center aims to become a key platform within the region for AI technology research and development, application, technology transfer, and high-skilled talent cultivation.

Through this center, Nanning has strengthened connections among Chinese enterprises, scientific research institutions, and universities with ASEAN partners—especially those from Vietnam—contributing to the building of an integrated regional innovation ecosystem.

With advancing technology, Nanning is consolidating its role as China’s gateway to Southeast Asia through various multilateral cooperation mechanisms, international forums, and large-scale trade exhibitions.

The relationship between China and Vietnam continues to grow stronger. Nanning maintains close friendly relations with multiple regions in Vietnam, including Hai Phong, Bac Ninh, and Bac Giang. Vietnam remains Nanning’s primary trading partner within ASEAN, with exchanges taking place in strategic sectors such as investment, logistics, agriculture, high technology, and tourism.

Beyond economic factors, Nanning also preserves historical heritage linked to the Vietnamese revolution, further solidifying traditional friendship between the two nations.

The Yucai School in Nanning trained generations of students during Vietnam’s resistance war, making significant contributions to the revolutionary cause. Additionally, sites associated with President Ho Chi Minh’s activities in Nanning have been carefully preserved, attracting numerous delegations and serving as a living symbol of Sino-Vietnamese friendship.
