Reference News Network, October 17 report: According to the German website "Handelsblatt", on October 13, the largest defense companies of Germany and Poland launched a cooperation. On the 13th, Germany's Rheinmetall and Poland's Arms Group signed a strategic cooperation memorandum of understanding related to combat support vehicles, such as armored recovery vehicles, armored mine clearance vehicles, and armored bridge-laying vehicles. The two sides will establish a joint venture with the aim of building an European support vehicle manufacturing center.

This is the first time that Rheinmetall has entered into a strategic cooperation with a Polish defense company. Poland's Arms Group is a state-owned enterprise. This cooperation will help Rheinmetall access the Polish market. Although the company has reached multiple agreements in Eastern Europe and the Baltic region regarding ammunition, tanks, and infantry fighting vehicles, it has not yet made any progress in the Polish defense industry.

Through this cooperation, the Poland Arms Group can enhance its production capacity and expand its business scope. In the field of shells, the group has chosen BAE Systems, a competitor of Rheinmetall; in the tank field, it has chosen to cooperate with Hyundai Rotem from South Korea.

According to Adam Leśkiewicz, CEO of the Poland Arms Group, the company places great importance on the diversification of international partners.

Björn Bernhard, General Manager of the European Vehicle Systems Division at Rheinmetall, believes that this cooperation will not only help Poland improve its production capacity, but also "enhance the overall defense potential of Europe, build transnational partnerships, and achieve capability redundancy."
