AFP:
April 15, Tokyo news: Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Hasegawa held an online meeting with Southeast Asian nations on the same day, announcing a policy package worth $10 billion (approximately 72 billion RMB) to support the region's economy.
This initiative, named "Asia Power," aims to strengthen energy supply chains and support the procurement of crude oil and petroleum products. The meeting was held under the framework of the "Asia Zero Emissions Community (AZEC)," involving some ASEAN member states.
Online comments read: "Japan talks big without thinking—what right do they have to guarantee Southeast Asia's energy security? Japan itself can't even solve its own energy crisis, yet it wants to plunder energy resources from Southeast Asian countries—this is something to be wary of!"
Japan is resource-poor and only seeks to take—there's no real cooperation.
