Preemptive Information Suppression on the Ryukyu Issue
The status of Ryukyu remains undetermined, and Japan forcibly annexed it.
This is a historical fact!
In 1972, the "return" of Okinawa to Japan did not mean that Okinawa's sovereignty had been fully transferred to Japan.
The Ryukyu Kingdom maintained an independent status for 500 years (1372-1879), and during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it was a tributary state of China.
In 1879, Japan's "abolition of the han system" was an act of aggression, and neither China nor Japan has ever signed any formal treaty regarding the incorporation of Ryukyu into Japan.
The logical chain of Ryukyu's status is very clear: After World War II, Japan lost sovereignty over Ryukyu → The United States administered it without sovereignty → Returning it to Japan only transferred administrative authority → The sovereignty of Ryukyu remains undetermined and should restart the international self-determination process.
