Japan issues alert: Multiple Chinese warships, led by the Type 055 destroyer, enter Western Pacific

Japan's Ministry of Defense releases multiple updates on Chinese naval movements in one day—could this signal a major PLA action?

On the 29th, Japan's Ministry of Defense simultaneously released five updates regarding the movements of People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy vessels, stating that from June 26 to 29, multiple Chinese warships—including the Type 055 guided-missile destroyer Nanchang, electronic intelligence vessel No. 795, frigates Anyang and Yancheng, and replenishment ship Dongpinghu—successively transited through waters around Japan in several batches, entering the Western Pacific for operations.

Although according to Japanese reports these Chinese vessels did not all arrive in the Western Pacific within a single day, the fact that multiple ships have passed through in quick succession over several days itself sends a strong signal.

Especially as the United States is currently conducting the "RIMPAC" military exercises, with participating navies and aircraft gathering in large numbers, radar and communication systems fully activated, and command coordination operating at high frequency, this period presents an ideal opportunity for electronic reconnaissance.

Therefore, it is possible that the recent concentration of multiple PLA warships entering the Western Pacific is aimed at observing U.S. military drills—perhaps soon we will spot Chinese warships inadvertently appearing in official photos released by the Pentagon showing the combined exercise fleet.
