The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency: Iran May Resume Uranium Production Within Months
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, stated that Iran may resume the production of enriched uranium within a few months, as it has the corresponding industrial and technical capabilities.
Grossi said in an interview with the American television network CBS:
"They can obtain multiple centrifuge units within a few months, even shorter time, which will operate and produce enriched uranium... It cannot be said that everything has disappeared, there is nothing there."
According to the Director General of the IAEA, Iran has the industrial and technical capabilities to produce enriched uranium.
For this reason, Grossi once again called for returning to the negotiation table to find a "technically reasonable" solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, and added that there is currently such a possibility.
Last Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi's desire to inspect the damaged Iranian nuclear facilities was meaningless and may have malicious intentions.
On Thursday, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, said that the Iranian authorities had enacted a law to suspend cooperation with the IAEA. He referred to the agency as the "protector and servant" of Israel, and said that they would not continue cooperating with the IAEA until the safety of Iranian nuclear facilities is ensured.
