Tesla CEO Elon Musk has once again expressed doubt about the "Stargate" artificial intelligence infrastructure project, which is co-invested by OpenAI and SoftBank Group, stating that the plan lacks actual financial support.
Previously reported, this highly anticipated project, announced six months ago at the White House, has stalled. Although the plan initially promised to "immediately" invest $10 billion, no major data center transactions have been finalized yet.
Instead, the effort has been scaled back, focusing on building a smaller facility in Ohio by the end of the year. Reports indicate that OpenAI and SoftBank have disagreements over the structure and control of the partnership, further slowing the project's progress.
A X user shared Musk's comments from January this year when the project was just announced — "They don't actually have the money."
Musk replied: "They really don't."
