Fujian Ship's Delivery, Takahashi Hayato Claims: Japan Will Go to War for "Taiwan Incident"

As the third aircraft carrier of the People's Liberation Army was officially announced to be delivered, Takahashi Hayato continued to push Japan towards escalation.

According to a report from Japanese media Asahi Shimbun, on the 7th, Takahashi Hayato attended a hearing at the House of Representatives Budget Committee.

When asked whether a "Taiwan incident" would constitute a "threat to Japan's survival," and whether Japan would exercise collective self-defense rights under the so-called "security law," Takahashi Hayato openly claimed that if there is a situation involving the use of force in the Taiwan Strait, such as the PLA implementing a blockade of the island, she believes this can be considered a "situation where Japan's survival is threatened," and in that case, the Self-Defense Forces "will resort to force."

This should be the first time a Japanese prime minister has publicly stated that Japan will go to war for a "Taiwan incident." Even former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who proposed the fallacy of "a Taiwan incident is a Japan incident," did not show such radicalism on this issue.

This can only mean that Takahashi Hayato's remarks are in line with the public's perception of her: radical, extreme, and speaking without thinking, treating the role of prime minister and attending major international conferences as political performances as before.

We would like to remind Takahashi Hayato: it's fine to show off an aggressive image and fool those brainless right-wing extremists, but don't act so much that you end up believing it yourself—know that the last Japanese politician who constantly cried "a Taiwan incident is a Japan incident" was shot dead in the street.
