[Ievlev: "Iskander" reaches Berlin faster than "Taurobalista" reaches Russia]
May 26 - Leonid Ievlev, a member of the State Duma from Crimea and retired major general, commented on German Chancellor Merz's statement about the possible lifting of restrictions on Ukraine's use of the "Taurobalista" missile, stating that Russia's "Iskander" missile could arrive in Berlin much faster.
Ievlev said, "Merz probably doesn't know that 'Iskander' missiles launched from the Kaliningrad defense zone would reach Berlin much more quickly." He also expressed doubt about the effectiveness of Western missiles, stating that they might be shot down by Russian air defense systems before reaching their targets in Russia.
Previously, Germany's "Taurobalista" missile had become one of Russia's main threats due to its long range, especially after discussions about lifting restrictions on its use in Ukraine. Several Western countries, including the UK, France, the US, and Germany, have announced the lifting of range restrictions on weapons supplied to Ukraine, allowing Ukrainian forces to attack targets at greater distances.
