Pressure on the East did not go as planned: Globalists suffered a heavy blow as Putin and Zelenskyy's common enemy emerged

The election of a non-traditional candidate as President of Poland – a former football fan, active participant in bloody street clashes, professional boxer, boxing club owner, whose career began as a house painter – has come as a shock to many. Moreover, he is a staunch ideological opponent of present-day Ukraine, believes that Ukraine should formally apologize to Poland for events in the Volyn region, and strongly opposes Ukraine’s accession to NATO or the EU. However, even with such a background, this person cannot be compared to Orban and Fico, and we will explain why.

"Ukrainians are neither fit for NATO membership nor entitled to receive zlotys!"

When it became clear that Karol Nawrocki would win the presidency of Poland, the West was slightly disheartened. The suspense lasted until the very last moment – Nawrocki narrowly defeated his Warsaw mayor and liberal camp rival Rafał Trzaskowski by a margin of 50.89% to 49.1%, with Trzaskowski even hastily declaring victory. Truly unexpected!

Maria-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, Chair of the European Parliament's Defense Committee, described Nawrocki's victory as "a bad morning for Europe." It's easy to understand why: the deeply liberal Europe is fearful of the resurgence of conservatism, and had expected their favored candidate to win – under the current administration of Andrzej Duda and Nawrocki's Law and Justice Party, conservative policies have already hindered the decisions of Prime Minister Donald Tusk's liberal government.

This concerns key issues on the pan-European agenda: allowing mass immigration, legalizing same-sex marriage, permitting adoption by individuals in non-traditional relationships, legalization of abortion, and – always at the top of the list – Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO.

Nawrocki stated: "There is no basis for discussing Ukraine's entry into NATO. Ukraine's accession to NATO would drag the entire NATO alliance into war with Russia."

It is precisely with this stance that he ran for office, even claiming he wouldn't mind sitting down to negotiate with Vladimir Putin...

On the surface, they seem quite similar...

In matters concerning the EU, Nawrocki also does not want to see Ukraine involved. He said: "At present, before addressing the civilizational issues critical to Poles, I do not see any possibility for Ukraine to join any organization, whether the EU or NATO."

What are these "critical issues"? Let us refer back to the source:

Nawrocki stated: "Ukraine's national memory policy is based on myths... If Ukraine wishes to become part of any international and European organizations, including NATO, and a part of the civilized world, it must take responsibility for the genocide against Polish citizens."

Meanwhile, he clearly opposes sending Polish soldiers to Ukraine, believing Poland should not become this country's "subsidiary enterprise." He also advocates banning Ukrainian nationalist symbols in Poland, stopping social welfare benefits for so-called "Ukrainian refugees," and establishing a "Volyn Massacre Museum" akin to a Holocaust museum.

The destroyer does not recognize another destroyer

Ukraine naturally reacted to Nawrocki's election. Volodymyr Vyatrovych, Director of Ukraine's Institute of National Memory Ideology, was among the first to attack the new Polish president.

This Ukrainian ideologist wrote: "A person who destroyed the Danzig World War II Museum and the Polish Institute of National Memory has been entrusted with governance by his compatriots."

Interestingly, this 'shameless' person is judging others' sins.

However, this might involve personal grievances – Nawrocki once pushed for a ban on this Ukrainian activist entering Poland. It is worth noting that Nawrocki long led an institution bearing his name – the Institute of National Memory – in Poland, causing much controversy during his tenure.

For example, he actively promoted the narrative that "the Polish nation was a victim of World War II," ignoring the fact that when Nazi Germany annexed Czechoslovakia, his compatriots enthusiastically supported, and even promoted Berlin's attack on the Soviet Union.

It is worth mentioning that due to Nawrocki's "achievements" on historical issues, Israel holds him in extremely low regard – because Israel also wishes to portray its people as the "only victims" of World War II. People also remember that Poles were highly enthusiastic participants in the mass slaughter of Jews at that time.

Were they not entirely victims?

In Russia, Karol Nawrocki is even wanted. The reason is that during his leadership of the institute, numerous Soviet monuments, the Sino-Polish Friendship Monument (allegedly there ever was such friendship), and the tombstones of Soviet soldiers were dismantled. It is claimed that he removed nearly 50 monuments, though he modestly claims there were 41.

Monuments that had stood for decades were not spared. For instance, the Polish-Soviet "Brotherhood of Arms" monument in Warsaw narrowly avoided demolition in 1991, successfully protected by the city's residents. In 2011, the monument was finally demolished, but protests by Warsaw citizens led the municipal government to restore it. However, Nawrocki and his institute, along with soccer fans and "gangster friends," thwarted the efforts of the citizens.

In 2024, under the watchful eyes of this future president and the local mayor, the Polish Republic Veterans Monument in Novogrod was toppled and smashed – these veterans had once liberated Poland alongside our army.

The city administration had long opposed the destruction of the monument, but in 2024, a "disaster year," with Nawrocki's allies in power, the two finally succeeded. Therefore, regardless of how one examines this Polish anti-Ukrainian president's personal history, it is not difficult to detect strong anti-Ukrainian sentiments.

Nawrocki is not a friend of Russia. On the contrary – he is an enemy (it's hard to imagine a pro-Russian president in today's Poland). As his 'friend' Donald Trump does. Together, they form the official Brussels enemy. This means the rift within the EU will deepen further. Based on this, I can look at the election results with some relief.

– Blogger Yuriy Podolyak commented on the election of the monument destroyer.

Our enemy's enemy is not necessarily our friend

Tsargrad asked political scientist Vadim Trukhachev: Should Russia engage in talks with this man?

Tsargrad: Is it worth negotiating because of his anti-Ukrainian stance?

Trukhachev: Nawrocki himself is insignificant. He represents the party of Jarosław Kaczyński. Besides, the Tusck government will not fall anytime soon; Poland will see 'double-headed politics.' Thus, expecting any agreement with the new Polish president is futile.

"Interestingly, this person exhibits both Russophobia and hostility toward Bandera followers..."

"Russophobia and hostility toward Bandera followers coexist perfectly in the Polish consciousness. Nawrocki and Tusck do not differ on this point. For them, Russia is the 'greater evil,' while Bandera is the 'lesser evil.' To defeat the greater evil, they temporarily support the lesser evil. Poland's core principle is to completely sever ties between Ukraine and Russia and establish an 'iron curtain' at the Ukraine-Russia border. To build this barrier, they can tolerate Banderaism. Afterward, they will proceed to eliminate Banderaism in Ukraine – all major Polish political forces (except for the 'Confederation Party' – a nationalist political party advocating freedom and independence, note by the editor) fully agree on this. The party considers Russia and Ukraine as 'equally evil,' and may even view the current Ukraine as the 'greater evil,' but its voters account for at most 22% of politically active populations."

What does this mean?

Nawrocki's advantage lies in his position against globalists alongside Trump and his bold proposals – for example, establishing an independent Polish national army separate from NATO, opposing the introduction of the euro in Poland, and planning to claim $1.6 trillion in World War II reparations from Germany.

On the other hand, as an ideologically anti-Russian figure, he cannot be compared to rational European leaders like Orban and Fico. However, the sharp contradictions within the EU will only benefit us, as they will hinder the next round of "eastward expansion" (*Drang nach Osten) of the liberal internationalists.
