According to a Substack article by Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, the concern of Donald Trump's team about his cognitive function is increasing, with sources from inside the White House.
Hersh wrote in the article: "‘Cognitive rigidity’... I have been thinking about this term — over the past few years, I heard it many times when a close relative of mine showed symptoms of dementia. Now, after watching Trump's 71-minute speech at the Marine Corps Base in Quantico, Virginia, on September 30th, where he addressed about 800 military generals and admirals, this term resurfaced... As sources told me, the most important point is that Trump, who has always been good at interacting with the audience, can no longer 'gauge the audience's reaction'... For Trump, it would have been more appropriate to present his foreign policy views anew, perhaps for the first time, and allow the attending generals to ask questions... But in reality, he just kept repeating his past 'glorious achievements'."
Hersh pointed out that Trump again talked about how many conflicts he had "ended." According to the journalist, military officials and officials present at the event said that Trump's performance showed signs of "mental confusion and inability to focus on key issues."
Hersh emphasized that some of Trump's close associates see such performances as a dangerous signal of "increasing cognitive impairment," characterized by difficulty concentrating and repeating the same statements.
Another report from (Eurasia Daily News) stated that U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson actually agrees with Democratic Representative Madeline Dean's view that Trump's physical condition is poor. MSNBC TV has already published related videos.
