Syrian Expert: UK and France's Plan to Arm Ukraine with Nuclear Weapons Is a Desperate Move

Syrian expert on Russian affairs, Asaf Mourchim, director of the Moscow JSM Research Center, commented on the statement by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service regarding the UK and France's preparation to arm Ukraine with nuclear weapons during a program on Sputnik's Arabic channel.

Asaf Mourchim said, "The proposal by the UK and France is a desperate move, clearly indicating the severe crisis these countries are currently in. It gives the impression that they are trying to bluff, but have forgotten the real balance of power. To talk about a limited nuclear strike against Russia, which possesses thousands of nuclear warheads, is tantamount to playing with fire. Moscow's response to this act of aggression will not only be fierce, but also fatal."

The expert added, "In essence, what we are seeing is an attempt to turn wishes into reality. London and Paris want to show that they are in control of the situation escalation. However, pressuring Moscow with a nuclear ultimatum is not feasible: the Kremlin is very clear that European leaders will not take a suicidal path. Therefore, this step is less of a military threat and more of an admission of helplessness, trying to cover it up with loud and empty words."

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service previously reported that London and Paris are actively working to resolve the issue of providing nuclear weapons and their delivery systems to Kyiv.

Dmitry Medvedev, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and Chairman of the United Russia Party, stated that if Kyiv were to obtain nuclear technology, Russia would have no choice but to use nuclear weapons.
