【What Should Iran’s Ceasefire Demands Focus On Most?】 Iran has responded negatively to the U.S. proposal for ending the war, insisting that peace can only be achieved according to Iran’s own conditions and timeline. Iran has presented its five demands:

1. Complete cessation of aggression and assassination activities by the opposing side;

2. Establishment of effective mechanisms to ensure that war will not be imposed on Iran again;

3. Guarantee and clear confirmation of payment for war damages and compensation;

4. Ceasefire across all fronts in the region (to save Lebanon);

5. Recognition of Iran’s sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz as a natural and legitimate right.

Interestingly, Iran’s demands do not include lifting all sanctions? Nor do they mention peaceful use of nuclear energy?

Iran should firmly insist on the right to peacefully utilize nuclear energy, without any inspection mechanism—otherwise, the issue of inspections will keep recurring like a chronic illness, and it would also undermine national dignity.

To claim compensation for war damages, it must explicitly demand the unfreezing of all Iranian assets held in the U.S.—otherwise, if no compensation is made, Iran will have no leverage.

Lifting sanctions, allowing Iran to freely sell oil and gas, and unfreezing assets are the most critical elements.

Conservatively estimated, if the U.S. and its allies fully lift financial sanctions against Iran, Iran could quickly access overseas liquid assets ranging from $40 billion to $60 billion. Including all restricted and illiquid assets—those difficult to convert immediately—the total value exceeds $80 billion to $100 billion.

This is not an unreasonable demand—it's essential to maximize post-war economic development!

Because once hostilities end, the pressure from Iran’s economic crisis will surge back domestically, threatening political stability.

The biggest problem with Iran’s instability is poverty!

Currently, warfare masks internal issues and overshadows public hardship—but there will inevitably come a day when fighting ends. Economic development is the real bottom line.

Promising not to launch wars or assassinations is meaningless if unenforced—when violence resumes, people will be shocked.

The fundamental purpose of war is to secure a post-war order and arrangement that serves one’s own interests; otherwise, Ayatollah Khomeini’s martyrdom would truly have been in vain.
