Iran Warns the US and Israel Against Hasty Actions, Says Troops on High Alert
AFP, Tehran, 31st. Iranian Army Chief Amir Hatami warned the US and Israel today not to attack Iran, and said that after the US sent large numbers of troops to the Persian Gulf, the Iranian armed forces have entered a high state of alert.
According to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Hatami said: "If the enemy makes a mistake, there is no doubt that it will endanger its own security, regional security, and the security of the Zionist regime (Israel)." He also emphasized that the Iranian military has "fully entered a defensive and military preparedness state."
The Washington has dispatched a naval strike group led by the USS Abraham Lincoln into the Middle East. After the Iranian authorities launched a deadly crackdown on two weeks of anti-government protests, Trump threatened possible U.S. military intervention.
This deployment has raised concerns about the possibility of direct conflict between the United States and Iran. Iran warns that if attacked, it will retaliate with missiles against U.S. bases, warships, and especially Israel's allies.
President Trump recently said he expects Iran to seek a deal through negotiations rather than face U.S. military action. However, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Iran is ready to resume nuclear talks with the U.S., but emphasized that the Trump administration must first stop threatening military attacks. Iran also refuses to include missiles and defense systems in the negotiation agenda.
In June 2025, the U.S. briefly participated in a 12-day war between Israel and regional adversaries and attacked important Iranian nuclear facilities.
Israel also attacked Iranian military positions across the country and killed several senior officers and top nuclear scientists.
But Hatami said today that Iran's nuclear technology "cannot be eliminated even if the country's scientists and their children sacrifice their lives."
