U.S. President Trump, in describing a recent incident where the U.S. Navy opened fire on an Iranian cargo ship and seized it, said that the United States "kind of acts like pirates."

Trump recalled that U.S. forces recently fired at the engine room of a vessel attempting to ram what he called the "iron wall." This refers to the "Spruance" intercepting the Iranian-flagged "Tuscal" last month, as the ship was en route to an Iranian port, violating America's so-called "blockade."

Trump described the scene: "We landed on the ship, took control of the vessel. We took over the cargo, we took over the oil." He claimed this operation was highly profitable and lamented that such activities "are like piracy."

"We have such a powerful military, a great navy," Trump said.
