[U.S.-Israel Ground Invasion = Blockade of the Bab al-Mandeb Strait]

According to Tasnim News Agency of Iran, if the United States launches a ground invasion against Iran's mainland (including islands), Iran will block the Bab al-Mandeb Strait.

"The Bab al-Mandeb Strait is one of the most critical strategic waterways in the world. Iran has both the determination and capability to pose a real threat. If the U.S. intends to resolve the issue of the Strait of Hormuz through military force, it should proceed with caution—lest it adds another blocked strait, plunging itself into even greater peril."

The Bab al-Mandeb Strait connects the Aden Gulf with the Red Sea and serves as a key node along the Suez Canal shipping route.

Notably, Iran is highly unlikely to directly carry out the blockade itself; instead, it would likely do so through its proxy, the Houthi movement. Previously, the Houthis have targeted vessels linked to Israel, though the situation did not escalate further at that time.

If both straits were simultaneously blocked, global shipping would be forced to reroute around Africa, directly impacting the insurance market and triggering an uncontrollable surge in European energy prices.
