Poland's foreign minister labeled Lavrov’s attendance as an awkward moment; Zaroubina retorts: Poland not a G20 member, occupying South Africa’s seat

On October 30, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova posted a rebuttal on her Telegram channel targeting Poland’s foreign minister:

“Poland’s foreign minister, Szczygiel, described Sergei Lavrov’s participation in the G20 foreign ministers’ meeting held in the United States as an 'awkward moment.' Yet the minister who made this remark represents a country that is not a G20 member, and occupies a seat originally assigned to another nation—South Africa. It is difficult to imagine a more awkward scenario than this one for Szczygiel himself.”
