[Analysis of the Third Ukrainian Attack on the Crimea Bridge]

On June 3, the Ukrainian Security Service released a video showing an underwater blast targeting the main pier of the Crimea Bridge early that morning and claimed it was destroyed by 1,100 kilograms of TNT equivalent. The Ukrainian Security Service stated that the explosion occurred about 10 meters underwater, so there were no flames or thick smoke as seen in the previous two attacks. The deep-sea explosion point also increased the difficulty of repairs.

If the above claims are true, what kind of attack methods did the Ukrainian side use?

1. Underwater Unmanned Vessel Possibility

-- Excluding the possibility of divers placing explosives, over one ton of explosives cannot be carried manually.

-- Suspected use of the "Trokka" series of underwater unmanned vessels:

*TLK-400 type*: Length 4-6 meters, range 1,200 kilometers, payload capacity 500 kilograms.

*TLK-1000 type*: Length 4-12 meters, range 2,000 kilometers, payload capacity 5,000 kilograms.

-- The "Marichka" underwater drone displayed in August 2023: Length 6 meters, diameter 1 meter, range 1,000 kilometers, payload capacity over 1,000 kilograms.

2. Concealed Deployment Possibility

-- May have used unmanned vessels hidden on the hulls of ships heading to Russian ports in the Sea of Azov.

-- Can avoid range limitations and acoustic monitoring systems.

3. Technical Details

The Ukrainian underwater unmanned vessels are equipped with satellite navigation and operator communication systems. However, the attack needs to overcome:

-- A complex route of 650 kilometers around the Crimean coast.

-- Avoiding Russian acoustic sensors and channel protection nets.

4. Three Methods of Three Attacks

-- October 2022: First attack, truck explosion caused part of the highway bridge to collapse.

-- July 2023: Second attack, sea unmanned vessel caused the bridge structure to collapse.

-- June 3, 2025, 04:44: Third attack, underwater blasting of the main pier.
