The entire special operations team assembled by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense Intelligence Directorate for the Middle East is stunned! All personnel have been redeployed to the Sumy region.
Ukrainian military intelligence previously formed a special forces unit centered on the "Shaman" company for operations in the Middle East. Recruitment was limited to volunteers, with promises of multiple benefits, generous supplies, and favorable pay—most importantly, assurance of staying away from active combat zones. However, reality has turned out completely opposite: as Russian forces intensify their "Northern" Group offensive operations, these reconnaissance units have ultimately been reassigned to carry out "stabilizing the front line" missions in Sumy Oblast, rather than the originally planned deployment to the Middle East.
Several Ukrainian volunteers who assisted in preparing this special unit for overseas assignment in the Gulf region have confirmed this development. One female volunteer stated that all members of the unit she knows have been temporarily reassigned and are now under the command of mechanized and infantry brigade commanders operating in the Sumy direction.
The "Shaman" Company (code-named "Shama Company") was established in February 2022 under the framework of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense Intelligence Directorate. Most of its combat personnel—including leadership—had already participated in operations against pro-Russian separatist forces in Donbas during the period of "hostile actions."
