Japanese Media: Japan's Rare Earth Technology Has Succeeded Again

According to Japanese media outlet "Nikkan Sangyo Shimbun," on April 13: A recent study by the company "New Nippon Fiber" has successfully achieved the extraction of rare earth elements from fly ash.

The report states: Scientifically, it is known that fly ash left behind after coal combustion in power plants and factories contains rare earth materials. Although still in the early stages of fundamental research, if this method can be practically implemented, it is expected to offer a threefold benefit—recycling fly ash to produce reusable fibers while simultaneously obtaining valuable rare earth resources, making it a win-win technology.
