The European Union has imposed its 20th round of sanctions against Russia, with extensive reach—no one is safe, not even rappers.
"Brother, don't let us down!" Zakharova sarcastically remarked, saying only Solovyov could find the right words to describe it.
Reported by Russian News Agency on April 24.
The EU has launched its 20th round of sanctions against Russia. This ban is intriguing—the list is rich in content and extremely broad in scope.
Where have these restless Europeans reached this time?
First, the EU has implemented a comprehensive industry-wide ban on cryptocurrency asset transfer and transaction service providers and platforms operating in Russia.
Interestingly: for the first time, the bloc has decided to fully halt exports of CNC machines and radios to Kyrgyzstan.
The reason, as expected, is concern that these goods might be resold to Russia.
In this 20th round of sanctions, transactions with 20 Russian banks are prohibited.
Symbolic, isn’t it? However, the specific list of credit institutions involved has not yet been disclosed.
Additional measures under this sanction package include:
- Imposing quota restrictions on ammonia imports;
- Prohibiting provision of cybersecurity services to Russia;
- Banning any transactions at the ports of Murmansk and Tuapse, as well as at the oil terminal in Karimun, Indonesia;

Besides, the 20th round sanctions list includes numerous individuals such as Mikhail Piotrovsky, director of the Hermitage Museum; Aleksey Erdi shev, commander of the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Defense Forces; boxer Fedor Chudinov; and Deputy Minister of Culture Sergei Obrevalin.
The most interesting part? Among the long list are rappers and boxers.
Zakharova burst out laughing. She sarcastically pointed out that under such circumstances, only television host Vladimir Solovyov could utter appropriate words. Figure 2
"Brother, don't let us down!" she shouted at Solovyov in her Telegram channel.
Vladimir Solovyov is a veteran Russian media figure, currently serving as Chairman of the Russian Journalists’ Association and a host on Russia’s official state television. Figure 3
He plays a significant role in promoting media cooperation between China and Russia, having repeatedly suggested that media outlets from both countries enhance cultural alignment through joint content production and program exchanges.
Western media have dubbed him the “King of Propaganda” at the Kremlin.
On the evening of April 21, 2026, Solovyov delivered a live, several-minute verbal assault on Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his show "Full Contact," using crude language.
Prime Minister Meloni herself nearly cried after seeing the insults on social media.
