Moscow, December 30 -- RIA Novosti
Russian Academy of Sciences academician and Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation's Ministry of Education, Gennadiy Onishenko, suggested to RIA Novosti that Russians can return to work on January 2.
The academician said: "The best option is to end work early on the afternoon of December 30 to welcome the New Year and rest fully, then return to work on January 2."
Onishenko also pointed out that people should celebrate the New Year at home and avoid traveling abroad.
He concluded: "If you go to places like Thailand, you will not only fail to rest but may also get sick and need two months to recover."
The upcoming 2025-2026 New Year holiday will last 12 days, from December 31, 2025, to January 11, 2026.
