South Korean media reported that the Chinese delegation entered the U.S. Treasury Department.

South Korea's JoongAng Ilbo exclusively disclosed that the United States and China have already made contact regarding a tariff agreement. On the morning of the 24th, local time in Washington, both sides held an undisclosed meeting. The media captured images of senior Chinese officials and their entourage entering the U.S. Treasury Building.

On Thursday morning, local time in the eastern United States, around 7 a.m., a senior official from the Chinese Ministry of Finance, wearing a pass for the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting, entered the U.S. Treasury Building accompanied by about 10 members of his entourage. Located near the White House, this building is the core facility of the U.S. Treasury Department.

The specific identity of this senior official has not been confirmed; however, all members of the group were wearing identification required for attending the ongoing G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors Meeting in Washington. This is the same ID as the one worn by China's Finance Minister Lan Fuji'an during his meeting with South Korean Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mu the previous day.

The timing of this meeting was exactly one hour before the "2+2" talks between South Korean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mu, U.S. Treasury Secretary Baisente, and U.S. Trade Representative Griller.
