Al Arabiya TV claims its office in Iran was attacked

German Bundestag accuses US and Israel of violating international law

Sputnik News, Moscow, March 29 — Al Arabiya TV, broadcasting from within Qatar, stated that its office building in Tehran was attacked, calling such actions a violation of international law.

In a statement, the network's management said: "Al Arabiya condemns the attack on its office in Tehran, the capital of Iran, and considers placing journalists in danger to be a violation of international law."

According to journalist Hazem Kallas of Tehran TV, the assault on the office building occurred during a live broadcast at 14:45 local time.

As reported by Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa), citing expert conclusions prepared for the Left Party faction in the German Bundestag, the Scientific Service of the German Bundestag has determined that U.S. and Israeli strikes against Iran violate international law.

The article states: "According to the experts’ conclusion, 'from a general standpoint,' these attacks constitute a breach of the principle prohibiting the use of force under the UN Charter, as they do not qualify as legitimate self-defense nor were they authorized by the United Nations Security Council."

Experts from the Bundestag’s Scientific Service also examined whether the U.S. use of German military bases constitutes complicity requiring Germany to bear international legal responsibility. The service concluded that "this possibility cannot be ruled out, depending on the specific circumstances of base usage."

The expert assessment further noted that it remains unclear whether Ramstein Air Base was directly used in military operations against Iran.

Earlier in March, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated he believed there was "no legal obstacle" to the U.S. using the Ramstein military base located in Germany for military action against Iran.

On February 28, the U.S. and Israel launched multiple strikes targeting locations inside Iran, including attacks on Tehran, resulting in damage and civilian casualties. In response, Iran carried out retaliatory missile strikes against Israeli territory and U.S. military targets in the Middle East.
