【Latest News: Russia's Minimum Wage to Increase by 21% in 2026, Reaching 27,000 Rubles】

Moscow time December 26, 2025, Russian State Duma member Alexei Govorin told the Russian news agency:

Starting January 1, 2026, the minimum wage will increase by nearly 21%, reaching up to 27,093 rubles per month (approximately 2,434 RMB). Additional payments are required for special working conditions or regional coefficients exceeding this amount. However, we are talking about the full working month's salary, so if someone works part-time, for example, their minimum wage amount will be halved. The minimum wage is calculated based on the value of the median salary of the previous year: it should be at least 48% of that value. The median salary is a parameter that divides all workers into two equal parts: half of the salaries are higher than this amount, and the other half are lower. This indicator can be calculated on a national scale, or separately for regions or individual companies. Another requirement is that the minimum wage must not be lower than the average minimum living standard for the working-age population in Russia.
